How to use the Reflector Panel

The information posted at the UAD is slightly out of date. Here's the most current information we have, as forwarded to us by Andy at the Megaplex 20.

- Experiment with the placement of the reflective panel: try watching the whole screen through the panel with the panel about 6-8 inches from your face (this seems to be the recommended way to view a RWC movie), but you may prefer having only the captions on the screen and watching everything else without the screen. The screen will make things look a little darker - like wearing sun glasses. - The arm will hold the panel in position better if it is mostly upright and straight. When bent a lot, it tends to sag a bit.

- RWC works best in the seats in the middle section. You won’t be able to see it from the back rows and the sides and front rows make it very difficult to view both the screen and the RW.

- Just before the movie begins there will be a message on the rear "screen" that will reflect in your panel: "Welcome to rear window captions, please adjust your reflector." That will let you get the reflector panel in position so you won't miss the very beginning of the movie.

- They have 32 reflector panels now. (We will not be able to order more for a group as previously stated). If you have a group of more than 15 planning to attend a movie together, please let the theatre know at least 1 week in advance.

- If groups want to schedule special performances of a movie they have had (they have had DVS movies for the blind/low vision group for over a year at the Gateway - those movies have the captions), please contact Corina Nelson @ cnelson@megaplextheatres.com or Andy Rhodes @ arhodes@megaplextheatres.com to make arrangements.

- If you have any problems at all, please report them to the box office while you're there, or to Corina/Andy (email in item above) when you get home. They are committed to offering us quality movie experiences.
